Digong and Roque have many things in common

By Atty. Gonzalo Duque

NO, there’s nothing morbid nor unusual about the recent SSS brouhaha, an alleged stock trading controversy.

It’s a simple case of misdemeanor which does not involve the new leadership under chairman Amado Valdez.

What matters is it is now being dealt with, with dispatch to block the shenanigans of certain scalawags and wrongdoers.

As the SSS pointed out, it has an objective, transparent and fair investigation  is now ongoing to address the administrative complaint.

The unearthing of the insidious operation simply confirms the well-meaning mindset of the new leadership which we should applaud.

Up to now, words of congratulations keep pouring in connection with brod Pincoy’s re-appointment as DoH secretary.

            Parang inggit na tayo ah!

But, no, brod Pincoy knows where we stand.

In our family, what always stands out is the higher if not the highest interest.

No less than the President knows this mindset.

You know Pincoy’s track record in all the offices and endeavors he has handled, panay A-1. Ok na tayo doon.

            We wish him well.

Aha! Salamat. Director Roland Mejia ha?

Magsilbing inspirasyon sana ang tiwala ni Pangulo sa isang Pangasinense on this account.

We have seen lately the almost finished 5-story building ng R1MC… baka matatapos na anytime soon.

We heard another 11-story building is in the offing, all under the aggressive leadership of Director Mejia. Ok ha?

Saludo tayo sa initiative niyo. But, please, don’t overspeed, baka madapa.

J V told us “manimis lamet si Kuya Paco, ha, Gonz?” We told our biking partner in 1958 yet (Jun was 11, we were only 6 ) that in the recently concluded All Saints and All Souls Day observance, we remembered erpat in his most luminous persona yet. Lagi niya tayong sinusubaybayan eh.

The Sunday Punch is happy about the appointment of Lawyer Harry Roque, this paper’s lawyer in its tiff with the Cabangon Chua case involving McAdore Hotel.

Digong and Harry have similar mannerisms, and both are unbending in dealing with the truth.

Ha?? Ok si Usec. Ernie Abella? Just watch now how the President’s media work beginning now.

In case you don’t know, Harry’s law partner is PDI columnist Joel Butuyan, nephew of former Punch columnist and former Judge Ulysses Butuyan. We heard from Jun Velasco that Joel has accepted a speaking engagement with their breakfast club in Lingayen.

Congratulations, Harry!
