US no longer ‘al-mighty’

THERE’s a lot of misreading of our revered FVR’s column in the Manila Bulletin on President Duterte’s First 100 Days.

Detractors are jumping with glee in irresponsible disregard of the duo’s personas.

Our take on Kuya Eddie’s column is like that of  a fatherly advisory.

But come to think of it.

It’s only Digong’s first 100 days! Kung baga – parang honeymoon stage pa lang.

But for the benefit of the un and less-informed, the administration’s sizzling peace and order success, is a necessary prerequisite to launch the President’s comprehensive economic program. Which is happening. The President is expected to achieve a breakthrough in economic investments. He was accompanied by 400 businessmen in his first trip to China.

We can’t attract investments if our country has criminality problems, can we?

What?!!  Our people are aghast at President Digong’s becoming pro China and Russia?

Sa totoo lang. It is only through an independent foreign policy that our beleaguered nation can prosper.

Tama na yong more than 70 years under American rule or influence.

Take a long, hard look. Hindi tayo umaangat! It’s the fault of our economic managers?

Well, it is given that in most if not all our trade agreements with the West, we only get the crumbs… pampalubag loob!

Hindi ba kayo nagtataka? Our scholars, our students, our youths, the masa continue to be agitated by the onerous relationship – agrabiyado ang Pinas sa so-called Ph-US partnership na iyan. Pati utak natin, kinontrol e. Ang laging bida si puti, mataas ang ilong, tall, white and never mind!

It’s about time our people see through this outright, comprehensive subjugation!

When we were teen-agers, we already fought this . That’s why instead of frowning on our rebellious youth, try to understand them.  They are merely advancing our real, national interest, not America’s.

In probably one of the President’s peak moments as a nationalist, lumabas iyong expletive that rattled President Obama. We’re thinking instead of being saddened by that display of bravado, salute Pangulong Digong because he could stand up to the president of the greatest power on earth!

No, he was simply being pro-Filipino when he mouthed the anti-west outburst.

Kasi from his presidential, expert view window, kitang-kita ng Pangulo ang pang agrabiyado sa atin ng kano!  Karamihan hindi nyo alam kasi colonial minded tayo.

Kaya galit si Pangulo … It’s righteous anger, if you ask us.

Well, it may be true that the U.S. is still mighty, but no longer Al-mighty!

Many are talking about a revival of the 60’s and past jam sessions.

The idea popped out over a cup of brewed coffee at Pedrito’s with former Mayor Al Fernandez, former Land Bank manager Usec Albert Balingit and University of Luzon prexy Macky Samson.

One reason the aging among us are literally aging is because they no longer experience the old bounce, the youthful energy, sense of adventure, the fun and the frolic.

A group presented to the not-so-old pillars of Dagupan’s rock’n roll that the time is now to revive the eternal youthfulness of Ramon Jacinto who still feels life in the 60’s! But, of course, side by side with the modern!

An informer says the music of the roaring 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and on to Congressman Toff’s music today will fill the main hall of The President Hotel on Nov. 4, a post-Halloween treat by the hotel…  with Cesar Pinero and Tito de Guzman’s excellent band music.

The presentation, we hear, is a prelude to an up-and-coming music house sis-in-law Mita, is putting up, which is what we really don’t have in Pangasinan as of now.

Aside from the Ultimate Flashback band’s numbers, there will be replay of the unforgettable numbers by the Ventures, Shadows, Hi-jacks, the Electromaniacs, RJ and the Riots, we heard.

Let’s invade the place. We heard a roasted calf and the best food in town await the swingers. Ha? May ticket?? Ay, ok it’s a dinner dance with the music of The Ultimate Flashback Band.

 Ok ngarud!
