Surrender or else

ACCORDING to PNP Chief Bato dela Rosa, more than 65,000 drug users and pushers have voluntarily surrendered since the anti–illegal drugs crackdown started. Kasama na dyan ang napabalitang 1,177 na sumuko sa Urdaneta City na nasaksihan mismo niPDEA Director General Isidro Lapeña at ilang city elective and police officials!
Even a sitting mayor in the province of Abra suspected of being involved in the drug trade has voluntarily surrendered to the police! Inunahan na nya yata ang listahan ng mga alkalde na sangkot sa iligal na droga na ilalabas ng pamahalaan!
Could there be mayors in Pangasinan included in the list? Surrender na kayo habang maaga pa!

Another welcome development, courtesy of the PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group, is the interception of a 50–meter long fishing vessel cum “floating shabu laboratory” found in the waters near the coastal town of Subic, Zambales. This resulted in the arrest of four Chinese individuals.
Ayon sa PNP, the shabu lab has a capacity to produce 50 kilos of shabu in one production cycle!

Kaya naman, it is our opinion that this floating shabu lab is also a source of illegal drugs not only of the province of Zambales but also that of the coastal areas of Pangasinan! As former head of Task Force Subic, I was involved in the interdiction of 745.36 kilos of shabu with a street value of 5.5 billion pesos last June 2008, the biggest shabu seizure in the Philippines. Dahil sa pagkasabat ng nasabing shabu, matagal na nating alam na ang Subic Bay ay ginagamit bilang daanan at daungan ng iligal na droga ng mga sindikato!
It is even rumored that some barangay officials in these coastal areas are involved in drug transactions with these Chinese druggies dahil sila mismo at ang kanilang mga bangka ang ginagamit para kunin ang shabu mula sa floating shabu lab!

Ayun naman pala e!
We have barangay officials in cahoots with drug manufacturers and pushers, kaya pala napakaraming “surrenderees” sa ating lalawigan! Kaya nga nakakawalang gana itong ilang barangay officials natin. Some of them, assuming they don’t use drugs themselves, nakikipag-sosyo sila sa mga gumagawa at nagtutulak ng droga!
You know who you are kaya magsi-ayos o magsi-suko na kayo! Tutal, kilala na kung anong mga barangay sa Dagupan City ang naturingang “illegal drugs hotspot!”
O baka gusto nyo na bumulagta na lang kayo bigla dyan sa tabi-tabi gaya ng ibang nauna sa inyo na umaabot na raw sa 505?

We commend Mangaldan Police Chief Benjamin Ariola for taking the initiative to detain his own brother for drug use and have him eventually rehabilitated! Treatment and rehabilitation should go hand in hand with drug supply reduction operations if we wish to address our drug problem. Swerte nga tayo sa Pangasinan because we have the regional drug treatment and rehabilitation center located here!
Kung tutuusin ay maswerte din ang kapatid ni P/Supt Ariola at sya ay isinuko ni chief of police sa mga otoridad. Kaysa naman maisama pa sya sa mga humahabang listahan ng namamatay na drug personalities!

Sa botong 11-4, the Supreme Court dismissed the plunder charge against former President and now 2nd District of Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal–Arroyo and immediately ordered her release from hospital detention! Pending completion of certain administrative procedures, it is expected that she will be released within a day or two.
Ayon sa Korte, hindi raw naipakita ng “prosecution” na binulsa ng dating pangulo ang 366 milyong piso na intelligence funds mula sa Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) noong 2008 hanggang 2010, so the demurrer of evidence filed by her lawyers was granted by the Court!
It can be remembered that the previous administration has made her name synonymous with all things ailing our country. Napapansin nga na laging sya ang sinisisi kung may suliraning kinakaharap ang ating bansa!
Ayon nga sa mga biruan, kulang na lang ay sisihin sya sa mga bagyong sumasalanta sa atin o kaya sa pagkamatay ni Dr. Jose Rizal!

The fact that the charge was dismissed by a mere Demurrer means that the prosecution’s case is weak. Kahit nasa papel pa lang ang labanan at hindi pa naipresenta ang kanyang depensa at mga testigo ay talagang mahina na ang reklamo, kaya maaari nang i-“dismiss” ito ng korte!

After ordering the release of former President Arroyo, the Ombudsman is bent on pursuing another plunder case against Ma’am GMA, this time for the possible misuse of PCSO funds, again, worth 57 million pesos covering the years 2004-2007.
Mukhang ayaw yata tantanan ng Ombudsman si Ma’am GMA. Bakit hindi pa isinama ang kasong ito sa naunang kaso? Isn’t this obviously harassment on the part of the Ombudsman? May galit yata ang ating Ombudsman kay Ma’am GMA!
