Now, it’s breaded shabu

PINOYS are indeed gifted and creative. We excel in many fields all over the world.  We have countless names that make our country very proud.  But what I can’t help but think is the idea of putting or mixing shabu in the bread and share it with others like an ordinary food is criminal!

This happened early last week sa isang resort sa San Fabian.

Was the customer the only one behind the sharing of the shabu bread? After the bread was consumed by four staffers, they suffered stomach ache, headache and vomiting which are symptoms of food poisoning!

When the bread was brought to the PNP laboratory for examination, lumalabas na ang tinapay ay may halong shabu!  Obviously, the bread with shabu was intentionally prepared to test its effect on the body.

If plain mixing of shabu with bread can poison people, imagine its effects from regular sniffing.  Siguradong mababaliw talaga ang users!

Some may find that incident amusing but not me.  If illegal drugs could be transformed into something else, then nothing is safe about what we consume!

The incident should be properly investigated by authorities. We should know the origin of this bread and who are the people behind the baking.  Dapat matukoy at dapat managot.

We must move to stop this, magtulungan po tayo . Tapusin na po natin ang kahibangan ng gumagawa ng tinapay na ‘yan before it is too late!

Another truly sad story is the case of Dasol town. Its residents are reportedly now swimming and drowning in drugs! I was surprised by this revelation because it was the mayor himself and Mayor’s League president, Mayor Noel A. Nakar, who shared this and added that he is ready to give up!

I have relayed this information to the Director General of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to ask for assistance.  If the information is accurate that Dasol is heavily drug-affected, may we ask what the Dasol Police are doing there?

Thankfully, the PDEA DG is always accommodating whenever we ask him for assistance particularly in the Region 1.  Although PDEA is concentrating on High Value Targets (HVT), he still demands that his people coordinate with the local police for effective joint action.

Is the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) of Dasol active, re-activated or already inactive? I ask this because as MADAC chairman, Mayor Nakar has the authority to conduct Barangay Drug-Clearing Operations in cooperation with the town’s police.

The MADAC can also help rehabilitate the drug users while assisting the police authorities in gathering information on illegal drug trade, suspected pushers, drug dens and protectors.  These are not easy tasks but still these should be done.

I don’t have an official report regarding the alleged drug problem in Dasol.  But still, I already sent information to PDEA that Dasol needs their help.  Hindi ko rin alam kung gaano nga kalala ang problema as we do not have data on hand at the moment.

Mayor Nakar should not lose hope.  He still has the authority and power; the support of his police authorities and cooperation of PDEA and of course, his constituents!  What he needs is the re-energized political will to do all possible things and the support of his constituents in order to win the battle against illegal drugs in his town.
