Are we still safe in our homes

Gonz-Duque1

By Gonzalo Duque

ONE day last week, former City Fiscal Johnny Siapno, father-in-law of the former Prime Minister of East Timor, was mauled by a drug addict – or addicts –leaving him unconscious due to a fractured skull. He was comatose as of last report  by a Punch reader, Bernie Ballesteros.

We don’t know Kuya Johnny’s condition now.

Now we ask: where is Police Chief Chris Abrahano and his much vaunted  performance record?  Awards? Please give them to the marines!

Up to presstime, we hear in deafening manner reports about drug pushers and addicts on the crime score board.

Are we still safe in our homes?

In such a challenge, we need a national leader of Mayor Duterte’s stance.

Davao City is a shining example – it’s been cleaned and cleansed of drugs!

Kailan kaya natin matutularan ang Davao?

Dagupan, wake up!

Thank you, Sunday Punch!

Truth to tell, our Playing with Fire has taken a role of reaching out to the Pangasinan public regarding the latest on Mayor Duterte, who, up to now, is in the so-called denial stage re speculations on his running for president.

He has been going around the archipelago – and to us, we are of the conviction that he WILL RUN for president.

And we want to add that the silent majority are for him who has what it takes to be a good, effective president. Unlike most of the dreamers and ambitious who can’t lead as shown by their records.

Most Pinoys are exasperating with the prevailing system dominated by drugs, criminality, economic dislocation, broken systems that urgently need surgery.

We observe that many Pinoys are pining for the return of former President Marcos whose alleged atrocities are turning to look benign compared to what we all see around.  What was left after 1986 is worse.  There was no regime change; only, personalities change.

How about Grace Poe, the lady you see crying on the headline of Manila Bulletin the other day.

Hindi niya kaya ang labanan sa pulitika. She ought to know the presidency is not a student council derby.

Hmm… ano ba yan manang Grace!

How about Mar Roxas?  Ok, Daang Matuwid nga, papaano? But FIRST, he must first show that he is winnable!

Iyong Smartmatic Pcos na iyan, kwidaw tayo diyan ha! Diyan natalo si Mar.

But this time, it would be a new ball game!

We call on the entire Filipino citizens to fight and oppose the Smart Matic Pcos machines na yan!

It behooves us to ask again, why are we kowtowing to a foreign system which has been rejected by those who have used it! Malakaing kaso ito, mga igan! Where is Daang Matuwid, Mar?

Better to lose with honor than win in questionable, diabolical manner?

Please keep Daang Matuwid out of Picos, baka tayo na naman ang napicos-picos!
