OFFICIAL WIFE’S USE? While the provincial government of Pangasinan was too generous to give our honorable bokals a brand new white Ford Everest each, for their official use. Most felt that the abuse would be seen sooner or later, and true enough, the wife of a bokal was seen using the white Ford Everest with red plate number SKA 841 for shopping!

The snooty wifey, wearing a violet blouse and black skirt, in her shoulder-length hair, was easily spotted by this corner, walking inside Nepo Mall Dagupan Thursday at around 6:13 p.m walking with her “I don’t care about you people” look on her face.

She bought few items (just enough to be carried by her hands) and was dutifully fetched by a driver (whose salary I suppose also comes from the provincial government coffers). She boarded her husband’s official car, whose payment, maintenance, repairs, gasoline and everything comes from the blood, sweat and tears of the taxpaying Pangasinenses.

Madam, what do you think of that vehicle? “For official Wife’s Use” also? Baing ki met na daiset kari.–Tita Roces

OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP. Last Feb. 24, the provincial government recognized the outstanding performance of its employees. As they cheered the awardees, I could sense the the high morale and pride of the Capitol employees in their respective jobs.

Apart from the awards program, the employees have been taking part in annual team buildings. They also have the highest salaries among their counterparts in the region, perhaps one of the highest in the country. Recently, the Capitol also organized the Center for Excellence in Employee and Organization Development training center at the Palaris Building.

Also, Gov. Espino has always been very vocal in his gratitude to the employees to whom he credits the gains of the province. I must say there’s nothing better than being in a workplace where your contributions are recognized and compensated equitably while given the opportunity to improve your skills. May this kind of leadership be emulated by many!

Meanwhile, I congratulate the young athletes representing Pangasinan 2 division who topped this year’s R1AA. I know it took a lot of hard work and determination to win it Keep it up, all the way to Palarong Pambansa and beyond! – Johanne R. Macob
