A Kabaleyan’s Thoughts…

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE NEWLY ELECTED VICE MAYOR OF BASISTA 2013

Honorable Vice Mayor Jolly Jay Resuello,

Vice Mayor

Basista, Pangasinan,

Philippines,

May 29, 2013

Dear Vice Mayor Jolly Jay Resuello,

Congratulations for your well earned victory as Vice Mayor of Basista. You have exceeded all expectations for being elected as Vice Mayor of Basista. The result is the first historical event in the annals of Basista politics.  I am a 71 years old senior citizen of Basista and if my memory doesn’t fail me it was a Basistan who topped the election polls as a Councilor of San Carlos when Basista was a barrio of the City of San Carlos. Don Pio Perez was the number one vote getter at that time in San Carlos. I know for a fact that Don Pio Perez never bought any voters in the town of San Carlos. He was voted as number one councilor of San Carlos based on his clean conscience, achievements, integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, and spiritual beliefs.

I am 100% sure that you did not buy the voters who voted for you but instead voted for you based on your clean conscience, achievements, integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, and spiritual beliefs. Your achievements as a member of the Sanguniang Bayan of Basista is unparalleled. As a brother of the Mayor of San Carlos City, a brother of the Vice Mayor of San Carlos City, you have achieved in a little more than 3 years of residence in Basista, more than the achievements of the defeated Vice Mayor who had been a vice mayor of Basista for so many years and at the same time the son the most outstanding mayor the town of Basista ever had. Yours is a feat to behold!! I AM GLAD AND EXCITED THAT YOU WERE NOT ABLE TO CARRY THE CANDIDACY OF THE YOUR CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR WHO IS FROM LINGAYEN!!! It would have been a complete victory of political leaders who were once residents of LINGAYEN and SAN CARLOS CITY to lead in the big little town of BASISTA!!! Now, you can extend the powerful political and overpowering influence of the Resuellos in San Carlos City here in Basista. The voters who overwhelmingly voted for you wanted this to happen in the town of Basista. I just hope that when you become the Mayor of Basista which I have no doubt you will be, the town of Basista will not become a satellite of the City of San Carlos where the influential Resuello family resides.

We in the United States lamented so much when your father was assassinated!!! However, we are glad that the Resuellos are now in complete political control of the City of San Carlos after the assassination of the elder Resuello. A Mayor Resuello of San Carlos City, a Vice Mayor Resuello of San Carlos City, and now a brother Vice Mayor Resuello of Basista. You can’t beat that!!! These are being achieved because of YOUR CLEAN CONSCIENCE, ACHIEVEMENTS, INTEGRITY, HONESTY, TRUSTWORTHINESS, AND SPIRITUAL BELIEFS WHICH IS ALSO ESPECIALLY TRUE TO THE RESUELLO FAMILY.

The Basistans who voted for you as a RESUELLO have demonstrated AGAINST THE PEREZ, DE GUZMAN, FRIAS, RESULTAY, families!!! They wanted that they be replaced as leaders by a son of San Carlos City whom they will vote for again when you as RESUELLO will run for Mayor of Basista in 3 years. These voters of yours would love to see that BASISTA WILL ONCE AGAIN BE A SATELITE OF THE CITY OF SAN CARLOS!!! A VERDANT GREEN FIELD TO EXTEND THE POWERFUL POLITICAL INFLUENCE OF THE RESUELLO FAMILY OF SAN CARLOS CITY.  By that time, the happiness of these voters who overwhelmingly voted for you will be complete!!!

Since you become the 27 years old IDOL and LEADER of the thousands of youths in Basista, I, as a 71 years old senior of Basista would like to see you WITH YOUR CLEAN CONSCIENCE LEAD THE BASISTA YOUTHS TO A DRUG FREE BASISTA!!! In my 51 years as a teacher in the USA I have seen the very negative effects and results of drugs on youths who live in the places where I teach in the Los Angeles Unified School District of California, USA. ONCE DRUG IS INTRODUCED TO THE YOUTHS OF A CERTAIN PLACE, THERE WILL BE ON END, TO POVERTY AND KILLINGS IN THAT PLACE!!!! PLEASE LEAD WITH A CLEAN CONSCIENCE, THE BASISTA YOUTHS TO A DRUG FREE LIFE!!! THEY WILL LISTEN AND FOLLOW YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE THE FIRST YOUNG ADULT TO EVER LEAD THEM IN THE TOWN OF BASISTA. YOU ARE A BREATH OF FRESH AIR BECAUSE THESE YOUTH VOTERS WHO VOTED FOR YOU BELIEVED THAT THEY HAVE BEEN LED ELECTIONS AFTER ELECTIONS BY ELDERS WHOM THEY DON’T BELIEVE IN AND TRUST!!!!

I SINCERELY AND FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE A DRUG FREE YOUNG ADULT WHO THE CHURCH IS IN NEED OF. CONTINUE IN YOUR SPIRITUAL BELIEF IN GOD. THE YOUTHS LOVE TO WATCH YOU KISS THE HANDS OF THE ELDERS!!! (PINSIW) IT COULD BE THAT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT A POLITICIAN IN BASISTA KISSED THE HANDS OF THE BASISTA ELDERS AS PART OF HIS POLITICAL CAMPAIGN. KEEP ON TRUSTING AND BELIEVING TO THAT WISDOM AND CLEAR CONSCIENCE THAT LED YOU TO YOUR APPARENT POLITICAL SUCCESS.

MORE POWER TO YOU HONORABLE VICE MAYOR!!!!

GOD BLESS!!!!!

Sincerely,

Diosdado S. de Leon
