From Alisto to Limisto, ayos!

By Gonzalo Duque

SINCE the inaugural of the late Gov. Paco Duque at the provincial capitol, we’ve attended no more than three such events. Of course, our own, when we were vice governor.

Then on June 28, 20l0 at Gov. Spines’ stellar event. Try, again, Gov, for acknowledging our presence.

And last June 30, Mayor Benjie Lim’s big day. Read on about Benjie.

The Dagupan crowd was excited. “Mr. Cuando Cuando” was inspiring and in fighting mood ala Noynoy.

He boldly declared war against the enemies of law and katiwalian. Bravo!

Pung! Tama, bullseye! Imagine this Bangus Capital of the World is now the center of fish kill!

If you look around the city, you would still see these overstaying political billboards with the pogi at pangit na mga orakas ng mga kandilakos (karamihan naman nambili ng botos e, alam nating lahat, pwe!) everywhere. Be humble naman in victory mga “merchants of business.”

We told Benjie, the city has no date of chartering or founding in its official logo unlike the province of Pangasinan with its foundation date of l580. We know that the city was officially chartered in l948. Kahit yon muna ang ilagay. Ano, Benjie, baka gusto mong trabajoin namin ni Kuya Resty. Magsalita ka lang.

What’s this new catchword we hear in Super Radyo every morning, “from Alisto to Limisto? Ayos! The ball is in your court, Benjie!

Did you know that our neighbor Jun Velasco’s brod Dante is a close friend of Little President Jojo Ochoa? Their friendship dates back to several years. That’s why, confesses Jun V, he is being called from all points of the country pleading for an audience or appointment with President Noynoy or Jojo.

Maliit lang request natin kay Jun or Dan, a round of brewed coffee with P-Noy at his own sweet time.

We bumped into former Senator Leticia R. Shahani, beloved mother of our friend, Board Member-elect Ranjit Shahani. Still ebullient, dynamic, charming and intellectual, Manang Letty asked us how we could help restore the supremacy of the Liberal Party in Pangasinan.

It’s a party matter, so we couldn’t give the details here. For his part, Ranjit told us even if we didn’t ask, “Manong, magbe-behave na ako sa SP.” What did Ranjit mean kaya? What do you think, Rhee, can Ranjit be silenced? Your guess is as good as ours. Narian si Board Members Alfie Bince and Angel Baniqued, both seasoned debaters, who will keep him on his toes. Masaya to.
