FILIPINOS have been identified by international pageantry experts as the “best pageant fans in the world” — which is true since beauty contests are embedded in the Philippine society. Our year-round calendar is filled with it, be it national, local, and even in barrio fiestas, there is always a pageant for straight and gay men and women, the transgender, housewives, pregnant, and grandmothers.

On August 31, the longest running noontime show, Eat Bulaga relaunched the search for Miss Millennial Philippines.

What’s in it for Pangasinan? Gwendoline Meliz Soriano, the 2019 Limgas na Pangasinan now Miss Millennial Pangasinan will represent Pangasinan with her undeniable charm and outstanding wit while promoting what the province has to offer.

Soriano, a 20-year old beauty, hails from Labrador. She is a proud alumnus of Pangasinan National High School in Lingayen where she finished high school. In college, she took up Bachelor of Arts in Communication in Saint Louis University in Baguio. Her proud parents are Mr. Gilbert and Mrs. Melba Soriano.

The aspiring queen wrote in her Facebook: “Panahon na para ipamalas ang gandang Pangasinan. Galila kabaleyans! Together let’s raise the Pangasinan flag!”
