FDA-approved mosquito repellant as defense vs dengue

By August 11, 2019Governance, News

DAGUPAN City Councilor Jose Netu Tamayo has filed a proposed ordinance requiring parents or guardians to apply any Food and Drug Administration-approved mosquito repellant from knee down on their children or their ward as a defense against dengue.

Tamayo said while there have been other forms of device espoused by the DOH to kill and destroy mosquito, “there is a necessity to protect our people especially our children who are most prevalent victims”.

Once approved, school administrators, teachers, barangay captains and other barangay officials are mandated to circulate this requirement and to enforce this ordinance.

Any parent or guardian who fails to observe the requirements of the ordinance shall suffer the penalty of fine equivalent to P1,000. (PhilStar Wire Service)
