Voters registration starts in August
2020 BARANGAY, SK ELECTIONS
THE Commission on Elections announce last Thursday that the registration of voters for Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections that will take place on May 11, 2020 will start on August 1, 2019 until September 30, 2019.
Those who are still not registered voter and at least 15 years old on May 11, 2020, and residing in the barangay for at least 6 months on or before the Election Day are eligible to register.
During the period, applications for registration, transfer, change or correction of entries, reactivation of registration record, inclusion, and reinstatement of the name in the list of voters will also be processed.
Vulnerable sectors like the youth, senior citizens, women, persons deprived of liberty (PDL), persons with disability (PWD), members of the indigenous peoples, and indigenous cultural communities can register through the express lane.
And to bring the registration process closer to the people, Comelec will again conduct satellite registration activities in barangay halls, centers, public and private schools and universities, malls and commercial establishments and other public and convenient places. (Melody Valenton)
