LGUs warned vs. fake solicitations for civil defense program
LINGAYEN – The Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) Region 1 warned mayors of a group soliciting contributions from local governments in the region, using the agency’s name.
Melchito Castro, OCD R1 director said, the posers ask mayors for P10M for barangays and P5,000 for “processing fee.” The latest victim was from a town in La Union.
Castro said OCD does not solicit contributions and has not authorized anyone to collect.
He urged mayors to take photographs of the group soliciting contributions. (Ahikam Pasion)
