Calasiao residents prepare for ‘Habagat’
CALASIAO – The town’s residents are no longer taking any chances and have decided to be proactive by preparing for the looming extended rains and flooding that come with Habagat.
In Barangay Talibaew, residents have started to raise their appliances and furniture higher from the floor level, still others found ways to raise their floor levels.
Talibaew is one of Calasiao’s barangays that experiences neck-deep flooding during habagat due to the overflow of the Marusay River.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) has since raised its alert level to blue – prompting the prepositioning of search and rescue equipment for expected emergency operations.
The Regional Evacuation center built in Barangay Gabon has also been activated for possible evacuees come flooding. (Chub Pasion)
