Rosales ABC president with illegal firearms arrested

A BARANGAY chairman of Rosales was arrested after several illegal firearms were found in his residence.

Arrested by joint elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Rosales Police in his house in the early morning on June 6, 2019 was Crisanto Coloma, 65, barangay chairman of San Pedro West, Rosales and also the town’s Association of Barangay Council (ABC) president.

Brig. General Joel Orduna, Police Regional Office 1 director, said the police operatives served two search warrants for violation of Republic Acts 10591 (illegal possession of firearms and ammunition) and R.A. 9516 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) both  issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Mervin Jovito Samadan of Branch 70 in Burgos town.

The police operation that resulted in the arrest of Coloma seized items: one cal .45 pistol, a home-made cal. 38 caliber revolver; 46 bullets for cal. .9mm pistol, 43 bullets for cal. 38, 26  bullets for 12 gauge shotgun, 15 bullets for Cal .45, bullet for ammunition for M16 rifle; ammunition for M203 rifle grenade. one and short magazine for 12- gauge shotgun, two magazines for cal.45 pistol; two  holsters colored black and two black sling bags.

However, no illegal drug was found.

Orduna said: “I oblige the men and women of Police Regional Office 1 to exert more efforts in ensuring the safety of the community, especially against criminality.” (Leonardo Micua)
