BINMALEY – Using a two hundred-meter rope, the Binmaley PNP, together with the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) partially eased traffic woes of motorists here.

In a PUNCH interview, P/Lieutenant Colonel Brendon Palisoc, officer-in-charge of Binmaley PNP, said the rope keeps motorists in their places in downtown area through the bridge being renovated by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

“We have observed that the heavy traffic is being caused by motorists attempting to  overtake constantly. Masikip na nga ang daan, tapos mag-uunahan pa,” said Palisoc.

With the fastened rope, the authorities have observed better traffic situation.

Rodolfo de Guzman, a motorist who regularly passes the area, felt a major improvement in travel time passing through the town’s concrete strait.

“Dati nasa mga six to seven minutes ang kailangan para makatawid ka mula doon sa tulay hanggang sa bayan, ngayon halos kalahati na non. Bumilis yung pagdaan ko rito”, he said.

Meanwhile, the police station is looking into other options: 1) To divert trucks going to -and fro Lingayen to take the Nansangaan-Matalava route. 2) To move loading and unloading for jeepneys, buses and tricycles farther out. (Chub Pasion)
