THREE search warrants were conducted in Pangasinan upon the assumption of office of P/Brig. Gen. Joel Orduña, acting police regional director.

Orduña took over as Acting-Police Regional Office 1 director from P/Brigadier General Romulo Sapitula who retired from the service, during a turnover ceremony at Camp Oscar Florendo in La Union last week.

In addition to the search warrants served in Pangasinan, two were implemented in Ilocos Norte, four in the Ilocos Sur and two in La Union.

Arrested in one of three search warrants served by the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office was Adonis Gante Castillo, 49, of Asingan.

Confiscated from other civilians during these operations were one Carbine, one Caliber 9mm pistol, three caliber .45 pistols, one converted Cal 22 rifle, 181 assorted ammunition, 11 assorted magazines and other paraphernalia like holster, bandolier and rifle scope mount

Orduña said the simultaneous implementation of search warrant was part of PRO1’s continuous drive against loose firearms to keep peace and order during the campaign and on May 13 election day. (Leonardo Micua)
