SEVEN groups of artists and photographers in Pangasinan have lent their works of art anew to the “Panag-ARTe La Lamet Photo and Art Exhibit” at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center (PTDC).

Now on its fifth year, the art and photo exhibit was opened to the public on April 8 as an event for the Pista’y Dayat celebration in the province.

The participating groups are Liket Datek, Biskeg Pangasinan, Bolinao Artist Group, Inc., Anak-Pawis Artist Group, Pinankakasakey Artist Circle and Pangaisnan Lensmen.

The formal opening was led by Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. and Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba.

Calilimlim, who chairs the committee on tourism, culture and arts in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, lauded local artists in the province for promoting the artistic culture in Pangasinan.

“To all of you who came from Western Pangasinan to Eastern Pangasinan, we thank you. Because of you, art is very much alive,” Vice Governor Calimlim stated.

Noting the growing number of participants and visitors, the vice governor lauded the contributions of the participating groups.

“We are all here to be heard and we have people here who express themselves through their art,” he added.

The vice governor noted that since the establishment of Pangasinan Historical and Cultural Commission, the provincial government led by Governor Amado I. Espino, III has also heightened the sense of tourism, culture and arts in the province.

“Simula nang pinalakas ng ating gobernador ang larangan ng turismo, kultura at sining sa ating lalawigan ay nabigyan ng panibagong lakas ang paglalahad ng sining ng bawat Pangasinense,” Calimlim. said

A lecture on “Juan Luna” and “Parisian Life” of Prof. Eric B. Zerrudo, UST-CCCPET Director was held.  (PIO/SMDG)
