‘Paboksing ed Gulpo’ on April 29

LINGAYEN– Amateur boxers, 12-18 years old will show their skills during the boxing competition during the Pangasinan Pista’y Dayat 2019.

Dubbed, “Paboksing ed Gulpo” on April 29, the boxing competition will be divided into three categories: school boys division (boys between 12-13 years old), junior boys (boys in the ages of 14-15 and 15-16 years old), and youth boys division (boys between 17-18 years old).

School boys division includes five weight categories, namely: 34-36 kg., 36.1-38 kg., 38.1-40 kg., 40.1-50 kg., and 50.1-52 kg while junior boys division and youth boys division share the same number of seven weight categories, such as: 44-46 kg, 46.1-48 kg., 48.1-50 kg., 51.1-52 kg., 52.1-54 kg., 54.1-57 kg., and 57.1-60 kg.

The Provincial Sports Development and Management Council (PSDMC) said the boxers will clash for three rounds in each division following the International Boxing Association (AIBA) tournament rules and the AIBA 10-point scoring system.

Weigh-ins start at 7 a.m. will be administered by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) to determine each fighter’s weight category. The main event begins at 2:00 p.m.
