Labor Day job fairs set to offer 15,000 jobs

JOBSEEKERS in Pangasinan will have a field day on May 1 at the Magic Mall in   Urdaneta City and at the Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) compound in Lingayen town where some 15,000 local and overseas job openings are expected to be listed.

Regional Director Nathaniel Lacambra of DOLE said there will be 70 local employers and licensed recruitment agencies which will make available some 8,000 vacancies at the Magic Mall jobs fair while some  21 local employers and licensed recruitment agencies are expected to generate around 7,000 vacancies at the night jobs fair.

“Labor Day is a fitting opportunity to recognize the valuable contribution of our workers in the development of the country and to muster greater support from various sectors to further the goals of decent work,” he said in a statement. 

The job fairs are part of DOLE’s continuing efforts to facilitate jobseekers’ search for employment.

“The DOLE works to make it easy and fast for jobseekers to find jobs that fit their qualifications, interests and career inclinations; while helping employers find the right applicants for their manpower needs,” the Regional Director said.

The Magic Mall jobs fair will feature top local vacancies such as production operators, customer service representatives and technical support representatives, while overseas job orders are topped by skilled construction workers, hotel and restaurant workers, and other skilled workers.

One-stop employment services will also be provided by the Social Security System, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Pag-IBIG Fund, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Professional Regulation Commission, National Conciliation and Mediation Board, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board and National Labor Relations Commission.
