“Kurit Panlongring” winners receive cash awards

LINGAYEN–More than P100,000 in prizes were awarded to winners in the 7th Kurit Panlungaring, the Pangasinan Literary Award, during the commemorative program of the 439th Agew na Pangasinan on April 5 at the Sison Auditorium. 

Gov. Amado Espino III and Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim presented the cash prizes to the winners in Poetry Writing, Essay Writing, Children’s Story Writing and Short Story Writing in Pangasinan language.

Winners in Youth Division: Poetry Writing – Rachel Torres, 1st place (P5,000 ) for her poem “Nen  Inmimis so Tawen Akasulat ak na Anlong”; 2nd place  (P3,000)Louise Faye Calma for “Maestra tan Arom niran Anlong”; and 3rd place (2,000) Realyn Lee Nepascua, for “Liwawa na Agew ed Datngen.”

In Essay Writing – Realyn Nepascua, P8,000 for her entry “Yaman na Kulturan Tawir Wala ed Kapoter na Kansiyon;” King Joshua Frias, 2nd place (P5,000) for “Pangasinan Derlengen Taka” and Jemin Kim, 3rd place (P3,000) for “Maaliguas Kulturan Pangasinan ed Ikadawamplon Sakey ya Siglo.”

In Adult Division: Poetry’ Writing – James Dennis Tandoc ,1st place (P10,000), for poem “Edades”; Alex Romeo Fernandez, 2nd place (P8,000) for Balikas Tan Palikdo, and Jahwella Ocay, 3rd place (P5,000) for “Pakanodnotan Na Imbeneg a taon.”

In Children’s Story Writing – Alma Nepascua. 1st place (P15,000) for “Say Alenleneg Tan Niduymaduman si Idong”; Adrian de la Cruz, 2nd place (P10,000) submitting “Si Insiong Gilata” and Nicky Roque, 3rd place (P8,000) for “Angel ya Bantay”.

In short story writing – Shane Carmie Sapera, 1st place (P15,000) for “Say Yegyeg Tan Saray Kumpapey”; Mary Ann Macaranas, 2nd place (P10,000) for “Onse”; and Jayson Bustamante, 3rd place (P8,000) for “Say Abugado no Manangaro”.

The “Kurit Panlongaring” is aimed at promoting usage of the Pangasinan language. (Leonardo Micua)
