BIR Calasiao sues four delinquent taxpayers

CALASIAO – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue Region No. 1, in Calasiao filed separate criminal complaints against four delinquent taxpayers with the Department of Justice for “Willful Failure to Pay Taxes under the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997, as amended (Tax Code) taxable years 2011, 2013 and 2014.

In a statement released to the media by Maria Lourdes d. Narvaez OIC-Chief, Public Information and Education Division, charged for violating Section 255 in relation to Sections 253 (d) and 256 of the Tax Code, were officers of Drivenet Communications System in Urdaneta City, Berex Enterprises in Mangaldan, Mark and Lye Construction Supply in Agno town, and Maskara Inn in Dagupan City.

Charged for tax evasions were Joe V. Zlasos (Drivenet) over a tax deficiency of P6,3 million; Mark O. Chua (Mark and Lyle) over tax deficiency of P 11.5million;

Ferdinand R. Dalope (Maskara Inn, First Mix Construction Supply, Flexpress General Merchandise) over a deficiency tax liability amounting to P8.7 million; and Bernardo C. Abalos, (Berex) over a P62,8 million tax liability. All inclusive of tax increments.

According to Marissa O. Cabreros, Deputy Commissioner of Internal Revenue, Legal Group, BIR Calasiao records of investigation show that the respondents were served the corresponding Letters of Authority (LOA), Requests for Presentation of Records, Preliminary Assessment Notices (PAN), Formal Assessment Notices (FAN) / Formal Letters of Demand (FLD) with Details of Discrepancies, and Final Decision on Disputed Assessments.

They were charged specifically, for violating Section 255 in relation to Sections 253 (d) and 256 of the Tax Code.

The four cases are the 402nd, 403rd, 404th and 405th filed under the Run After Tax Evaders (RATE) program of the BIR under the leadership of Commissioner Caesar Dulay. These are also RATE cases of Revenue Region No. 1, Calasiao.  (PhilStar Wire Service/ PIA)
