ANTI-DRUGS CAMPAIGN

LINGAYEN–Five drug personalities and a student fall in renewed stepped up anti-drug operations conducted by the police in separate towns of Pangasinan last week.

In Mangatarem, arrested by the police in Barangay Parian, Mangatarem in the morning of April 3 were Veronika Agustin, a drug watch list personality, 36, and her live-in partner Daryll Salvador, alias “Kalbo”, 28. 

A drug enforcement team led by P/ Sergeant Raul Cayabyab arrested the two following a buy-bust operation with the help of a poseur buyer. Agustin was arrested soon as she received the P500 marked money for the sale of one sachet of shabu. Three more plastic sachets of shabu were recovered by the police from Salvador.

In Manaoag, Arnold de Guzman, alias “Anot”, 38, a newly identified drug personality, was arrested by the police in Barangay Pao in drug buy-bust operation on April 3 after selling one sachet of shabu to an undercover cop. When frisked by intelligence operatives, two more sachets of shabu were found in the right pocket of De Guzman’s short pants.    

 In Urdaneta City, two drug personalities were arrested by the police in separate anti -drug operations. Arrested were Jomar Carza, alias “Nognog” who was arrested in Barangay Nancamaliran, and one Jayson Aquino, alias “Kapok”, 30, a motorcycle mechanic of Barangay Primicias, Mapandan.

The operations against the two were conducted by Drug Enforcement Teams under the supervision of P/Lt. Colonel John Guaigui.

All suspects were charged for violation of Section 5 under Article II of R.A. 2165. 

In Pozorrubio, a student was arrested in the early evening of April 3 while smoking marijuana in the premises of the Pozorrubio Sports Complex in Barangay Cablong.

Arvin Jay Rosal, 20, of Barangay Amagbagan was caught on the spot smoking marijuana with the use of a wooden pipe. His lone companion in the suspected pot session, whose name was not known, was able to elude arrest. (Leonardo Micua)
