200 exhibitors join P’sinan Tourism and Trade Expo

VISITORS to the 12th Pangasinan Tourism and Trade Expo at the Capitol beachfront in Lingayen will experience a one-of a kind one-stop shop, what with the 200 exhibitors offering a wide-array of consumer products and services to choose from.

Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) chief Malu Elduayan said the expo not only showcases the local flavors and products of Pangasinan, but also the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of the locals, and of the visiting entrepreneurs from other provinces.

This year, the month-long expo has gathered more than 200 exhibitors and entrepreneurs, including those from the plants and garden exhibits.

The expo features lanes of food stalls, plants and garden exhibit including a showcase of bonsai plants.

Some Local Government Units have filled their respective booths with the distinct One-Town, One-Product (OTOP) and food products and services produced/offered by their townsfolk.

The SMEs exhibit showcases food products; gifts, toys, and handicrafts, and furniture.

Also in the exhibit area are provincial government offices and national offices that feature their services.

The highlight of the kick-off day on April 5 was the presentation of awards led by Gov. Amado Espino III, Provincial Administrator Nimrod J. Camba and PTCAO Chief Malu Elduayan, Expo 2019 chairman.

Best OTOP/LGU exhibit was won by Villasis, followed by Bautista and Bugallon.

General Services Office – Solid Waste Management Division topped the best provincial and national offices exhibit, while Provincial Population, Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office, and the Environment and Natural Resource Office were runners-up.

Pangasinan Entrepreneur Development Association Inc. was declared the best SMEs exhibit (food category). Bella’s Puto, and Krispee-K placed second and third.

Rozene Handicrafts, Gano’s Native Arts, and MMYC JET were top three in the best SMEs exhibit (gift, toys, and handicrafts category); while R. U. Garcia Furniture, and Dango Rustic Wood Furniture were selected as best SMEs exhibit (furniture category).

For plants and garden – best landscape contest, winners are: MA Garden, Bonuan Boquig, Dagupan City (champion); Soping’s Garden, De Venecia Highway, Dagupan City (1st runner-up); and Parayno’s Garden and Landscaping, Salasa Bugallon (2nd runner-up).

Best dressed booth winners are: 4D’s Garden, Estanza, Lingayen (champion); Soping’s Garden (1st runner-up); and Jhoanna’s Garden, San Jacinto (2nd place).  (PIO/MGNO)
