Dad jailed for raping his 3-year-old daughter
LAOAC–An ice buko vendor was arrested and detained after he was charged with statutory rape, for sexually abusing his three-year-old daughter.
PO3 Abigail Somiquiab, officer-on-case, said Wednesday that Arnold Guillermo, 43, of Barangay Poblacion this town, was arrested March 9 by the police and is now detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Urdaneta City.
It was Guillermo’s daughter who told her ordeal to her nanny who is their neighbor, who in turn sought barangay officials’ help and reported the matter to the police.
The police accompanied the victim for medical examination and she was found positive of laceration in her sex organ.
The police nabbed Guillermo while he was having a drinking session in their neighborhood.
Somiquiab said the child’s dad would fetch her in the afternoon after work and they stayed together in their rented house without other companions. He was often under the influence of liquor, she said.
“The child is very smart and talkative and she identified her father as the suspect and demonstrated what her dad has been doing to her,” she added.
Somiquiab said she victim’s mother and the suspect used to be live-in partners but were later separated. The suspect took the child.
The mother, a house help in Pampanga, said she has been looking for them in Urdaneta City for a year but to no avail.
The child is now under the temporary custody of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office that will determine if the mother is capable of raising her child. Somiquiab said. (PhilStar Wire Service)
