5 persons nabbed for unlicensed firearms
LINGAYEN–Six persons were
arrested when policemen simultaneously served search warrants against several
firearm holders in towns of Malasiqui, Labrador, ,Sta. Maria and San Manuel on
February 27.
Arrested separately in Malasiqui were Arnulfo Andaya, 44; and Rolando Morante,
both of Barangay Ican.
Four bullets for shotgun were seized from the house of Andaya while one
Uzi pistol without a serial number and one magazine were seized from the house
of Morante.
Meanwhile, lawmen seized one Cal. 38 revolver with three bullets in another
raid at the premises of Eddie Mendoza 46, of Poblacion, Labrador.
One Bersa Mod. 86 Caliber 380 pistol with one magazine loaded with six bullets
was seized by policemen who raided the house of Danilo Galimba in Barangay
Villegas, Pozorrubio.
On the same day, lawmen served a search warrant at the house of Moises Taban,
alias “Moymoy” in Barangay Cal-litang, Sta. Maria, from where they
seized five bullets for Cal. 45 pistol, five bullets for Cal. 38 revolver and
16 bullets for Cal. 22 revolver.
Also arrested following a raid by the police in his house in Barangay Nagsaag,
San Manuel was Elmo Paguyo, 46. Seized by lawmen were three bullets for
Cal. 38.
All suspects were charged for violation of Republic Act No. 10591. (Leonardo
