LINGAYEN—The Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) of Pangasinan for Calendar Year 2018-2027 was adopted by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) during its regular session on February 4.

The PDPFP, said Second District Board Member Angel Baniqued Jr., author of the resolution, embodies the land use policies that will guide the direction of land use activities, environmental management, settlement pattern and development of other physical resources of the province.

The PDFP includes concerns about disaster and risk reduction and climate change.

Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Benita Pizarro said the PDPFP, consistent with the Regional Development and Physical Framework Plan and other national plans, aims “to transform the province into an ecologically balanced and stable environment, a world-class tourism destination, and a progressive trading and industrial center in the region, consistent with the objective of making the province as the best place to invest, live and raise a family.”

It will also serve as a guide for specific local plans particularly for the 48 municipalities and cities of the province including sectoral plans of line agencies. (Leonardo Micua)
