3 arrested in separate anti-drug operations

LINGAYEN–Three persons were arrested in separate operations conducted by the Pangasinan Police on January 10.

Two of the suspects were arrested in buy-bust operations and one through Oplan Sita.

Arrested in Urdaneta City was Joseph Jimenez, 28, a newly identified drug personality of Zone 5, Barangay Sta. Lucia in Urdaneta.

The operation was conducted by elements of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU)  of the Urdaneta Police under the supervision of P/Supt. John Guiagui and the DEUs of the Pangasinan Police Office and Police Regional Office 1.

One small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana leaves and two P100 bills used as buy-bust money were found from the suspect.

The suspect was charged with a case for violation of Section 5 under Article II of Republic Act . 9165, otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Another buy-bust operation was conducted at about 5:45 p.m. on January 10 in Barangay Magtaking, San Carlos City.

Arrested in the operation conducted by the San Carlos City Police, in coordination with PDEA Region 1, was Allan Bautista, 26, a handicraft worker, of Bacnar, San Carlos City.

He was arrested in the act of selling one transparent plastic sachet containing shabu which he was selling to a police officer who posed as a  buyer.

Recovered from the suspect was one plastic sachet containing shabu and one P500 bill.

Another suspect, Joselito Cristobal, 26,  was arrested on January 10 in Poblacion, Binmaley. He was identified as one who fell in Oplan Sita at about 3:20 p.m. while driving his motorcycle without a plate number.

When asked by policemen to show his driver’s license and OR/CR of his vehicle, he pulled out his wallet from the right pocket of his short pants when a piece of a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing marijuana leaves fell out and seen by PO1 Aurelio Zamora. (Leonardo Micua)
