THE 104 business establishments in Pangasinan cited for their commitment to provide good products and services to consumers received the Bagwis Seal of Excellence awards from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Provincial Director Peter Mangabat of DTI-Pangasinan said the Bagwis Seal of Excellence is a recognition of the awardees’ efforts to strictly comply with the rules and regulations of fair trade and at the same time promote the welfare of the consuming public.

“The Bagwis awardees properly handled complaints of their customers because they have an established, self-regulated process or system to handle complaints through their Consumer Welfare Desks,” Mangabat told the Philippine Information Agency.

He said consumers should patronize DTI Bagwis stores if they want protection and assurance that they are buying quality products.

This year, eight establishments were conferred with the Gold Bagwis Award, namely: the six branches of Puregold Price Club, Inc. located in Bonuan, Mayombo-Dagupan, Calasiao, Mangatarem, Bayambang and Villasis; Home Ideas Superstore-Calasiao; and the Sanford Marketing Corporation (Savemore)-Pozorrubio.

There are 30 awardees in the silver category while 66 are bronze medalists in this year’s Bagwis awards.
