Pangasinan wins in National Stats Month contests

LINGAYEN –Pangasinan won five gold medals out of 11 competition categories in the recently-held 29th National Statistics Month (NSM) regional contests in Vigan City on October 17.

Adjudged champions in the poster-slogan making contest in the secondary and tertiary level, bannering the importance of statistics in the society were Angelo Joshua Pamo (Alaminos City National High School) and Joe Alaizon Castillo (Panpacific University North Philippines Tayug)

In the essay writing contest, Cedrick John Viray Nunez (Alaminos NHS) won the gold medal in the secondary level.

Participants in the secondary level were composed of students from Calasiao Comprehensive National High School while the tertiary level was composed of students from Kingfisher School of Business and Finance.

Other winners: ORATORY (secondary & tertiary level) – Rovecel Margaux Radovan (Alaminos City NHS), 2nd place, and Lea Joy S. Fernando (Pangasinan State University – Alaminos City), 4th place); STATISTICAL QUIZ (secondary & tertiary level) – Iramia Laza, Alyssa Mae Castillo and Marvin David Angelo Bullaga (Bayambang NHS), 4th place; and Joanalen Cacatian, Renzo Sison and Ronald Paul Aragona ( Kingfisher School of Business and Finance), 2nd place; ESSAY WRITING (tertiary level and employee category) Reika Mae Pascua  (PSU- Alaminos City), 2nd place; and Diana Rose C. Purganan (DepEd Alaminos City (4th place,.

It will be recalled that Pangasinan was cited as Best NSM province implementer for three consecutive years ( 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2014, 2015, 2016) following the successful conduct of provincial NSM celebration. The second regional NSM HOF of the province was conferred last year. (PIO/SMDG)
