ALAMINOS CITY— The city government is offering huge discounts to Pangasinan residents when they visit the Hundred Islands.

Residents can enjoy a 50 percent discount in the registration and environmental fees and another 20 percent discount on the use of island facilities run by the city government, effective Oct. 8.

The new discount policy was authorized by the city council “in furtherance of the thrust of the city government to vigorously promote tourism, stimulate local growth and revenue.”

Alaminos City is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Pangasinan being the home of the famous Hundred Islands National Park.

Residents only need to present government-issued or company ID, electric or water bill, school ID as proof of residence who like to avail of the promo.

The promo is good for day tour only.

Mayor Arthur Celeste said the city government is in support of “Pasyar ed Pangasinan (Travel Pangasinan),” tourism project that showcases the best of the best in the province.

Mike Sison, Alaminos City Tourism Officer, said the regular P100 registration fee includes entrance, environmental and insurance but Pangasinan residents will only pay P50.

The 20 percent discount will be applied on rental and use of facilities like tables, chairs, cottages, zipline, kayaking among others, he added.

The tourism office reported a drop in the number of visitors to the Hundred Islands in July and August because of the monsoon rains and typhoons and gale warning and the travel ban by boats imposed during those periods.

Sison encouraged Pangasinenses to visit destinations in the province before they explore tourism spots abroad. (PhilStar Wire Service)
