Four straight wins for Pangasinan Five

THE Pangasinan Five capped their fourth straight campaign on a blazing note by smothering Philippine Military Academy, 122-88, in  an exhibition game held on September 30 at Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center Gym in Lingayen.

The Pangasinan quintet of Gov. Amado Espino III started fast and furious in the first quarter clobbering the visiting PMA’ers a whooping 23 points, 36-13, and never gave the highlanders a breathing space throughout the succeeding three periods, to keep its record remain unblemished in the Goodwill Games organized by the provincial office of Pangasinan Sports Development and Management Council headed by Modesto Operania.

Pangasinan’s four marquee players scored in double figures spearheaded by three-point specialists Marven Mamaril and Roxar Melendez pumping in team highs 23 and 21 points and with a combined 18 rebounds, respectively.

Reynaldo Ballesteros and Rolly Bravo also played a major roles for the victory by draining 16 and 14 marks, correspondingly.

The Baguio City-based cagers were led by John Vincent Manalo who rifled a game high 30 points while Aaron Nathaniel Torres contributed 18 and Alfonso John Tumanda had 10. (Jesus Garcia, Jr.)
