ACCOMPANIED by Gov. Amado Espino III, three former governors and his wife, Ditas, Undersecretary Thomas Orbos of the Department of Transportation, filed his
certificate of candidacy (CoC) for congressman in the First District

The three past governors who accompanied the former chair of the Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (IACT) to the Provincial Elections Office included his father-in-law former Gov. Rafael Colet, his brother former Governor Oscar Orbos, and former Governor and now Fifth District Congressman Amado Espino Jr.

It was virtually a show of force for Orbos who is running under the ruling party’s PDP Laban that placed him in a collision course with Arnold Celeste, the brother of Nacionalista Party gubernatorial aspirant Arthur Celeste, and one Ernesto Regaspi, an independent
candidate..

Orbos said their presence was a testament to “the kind of governance  that we should provide–public service which they all delivered to their constituents.”

Orbos and party traveled from Alaminos City where he performed his last official act as DoTr Undersecretary when he led the distribution of Pantawid Pampasada cards to the PUV vehicle owners and drivers in Western Pangasinan.

Orbos said while there is much more to be done in DOTr, he said serving the district with the same zeal will redound directly to the benefit of the populace in the district.

Orbos also served as Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) general
manager before he was appointed DoTr undersecretary.

Confident that he performed well in the DOTr, Orbos said that he can do the same serving in public office.

He said it is time for the First District to earn its rightful place in the nation as one of the best in the country given traditions and attributes..

Former Gov. Oscar Orbos said with his brother Tim presents the alternative for a candidate decent, transparent and dedicated public service. (Leonardo Micua)
