Arenas seeks re-election for 3rd term

THIRD District Rep. Rose Marie “Baby” Arenas filed her certificate of candidacy for her second re-election bid for her third term surrounded by her supporters in pink t-shirts.

In her statement, Arenas said, ” I join the people’s prayer for, and every responsible candidate’s commitment to a free, orderly, honest, peaceful and credible elections.”

“Today, I join the hopeful candidates around the country and I wish them all peace especially to the candidates in Pangasinan,” Arenas said.

She added, “For the sake of our people, we pray that the best candidates will prevail and become true agents of reforms and bring about inclusive and sustainable development for a peaceful and prosperous Pangasinan.”

Arenas’ daughter, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board Chairman Ma. Rachel Arenas, accompanied her mother in filing her candidacy.

Newsman Jaime Aquino and former Calasiao Mayor Celso de Vera both filed their candidacy to challenge Arenas.

The elder Arenas said, “What matters is the one who is not only there to file his/her candidacy but the one who is always there especially in times of calamity to respond to the people’s needs.” (PhilStar Wire Service).
