2 Malasiqui kagawads arrested for illegal guns, bullets

LINGAYEN–Two incumbent kagawads of Barangay Lepa in Malasiqui were
arrested by the local police for possessing illegal firearms and ammunition in their respective residences in the early morning of September 25 after search warrants were served to them.

The first warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Mervin Samadan of Branch 70 in Burgos town for violation of Republic Act 10591, was served at the residence of Kagawad Tito Ferrer, 48.

Seized from his house were one canister, one foam, three bullets for Cal. 45, one short magazine for Cal. 5.56 with 12 bullets, and one empty short magazine for Cal.45.

The second search warrant, also issued by Judge Samadan for the same violation was served at the house and premises of Kagawad Bobby Aragon, led to the seizure of seven  bullets for Cal. 45 pistol.

Meanwhile in Urbiztondo, one Gerry Aquino Tabiolo,59, was arrested by the police after he was served a search warrant, issued by Municipal Circuit Judge Crisma Vismanos of the 5th Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Urbiztondo-Basista, at his residence in Barangay Gueteb also for violation of RA 10591.

Seized from his house was one revolver with defaced serial number and  three bullets. (Leonardo Micua)
