Three wins in-a-row for 2018 Pangasinan quintet

THE 2018 Pangasinan basketball squad continues its winning form sans defeat by trimming its three visitors, Diliman College, Philippine Industrial Trading Corporation (PITC) and La Salle Araneta University all from Metro Manila, in fiercely and friendly contested matches held at the Calasiao Sports Complex and at Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center gym in Lingayen, respectively.

The 2018 Pangasinan quintet mentored by two ex-PBA players Christian Calaguio and Jun Marzan and Urdaneta City tutor Sonny de Jesus, initially overpowered Diliman College of Quezon City, 84-72, on July 14, nipped the lofty (PITC), 140-138, on August 17 and lastly edged La Salle Araneta University, 103-100, on August 27.

But it was the last two games (done in 12-minute per quarter) that rattled the Pangasinan five most that resulted in overtime against PITC, but eventually won by two points. Their third win by three marks starred by Marben Mamaril, Roxar Melendez, Mark Christian Meneses, Aljick Aquino, Mariano Catabay, Mark Kenneth Castillo and Arjay Corpuz that did the damage the most, sharply containing the towering six-foot-ten La Salle import Henry Iloka of Nigeria.

According to Calaguio, their fourth scrimmage might be against the National University squad. (Jesus Garcia Jr.)
