FOR INSURGENCY-FREE DECLARATION

LINGAYEN — The provincial board hailed the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police in their relentless effort in keeping the province ‘insurgency-free.’

To express their appreciation, Provincial Resolution Nos. 1844-2018 and 1845-2018 authored by Board Member Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario Rosary Gracia P. Perez-Tababa, was approved during the regular session on September 17.

The board members acknowledged efforts of both the Philippine Army and PNP for taking “the lead roles in helping solve the insurgency problem in the province, and the provincial government of Pangasinan owes this important accomplishment to them.”

“The entire officialdom of Pangasinan and its people convey its deep gratitude and sincere appreciation to the Philippine Army for their contribution of further sustaining the momentum towards peace in the province,” Rosario said in his sponsorship speech.

Pangasinan was declared as ‘insurgency-free’ province last September 13 by BGen. Lenard T. Agustin of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), area chairman of the clearing evaluation board, during the Area Clearing Evaluation Board Meeting at the Urduja House Ceremonial Hall.

The declaration was made official with the signing of the board resolution no. 01 series of 2018 which recommends the declaration of Pangasinan as cleared from Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), National People’s Army (NPA), and National Democratic Front (NDF).
