La Marea, Kingfisher bets win Mr. and Ms. DCAA titles

RALF Justin Abalos of La Marea Academy and Lourine May Bonode of Kingfisher School of Business and Finance were crowned Mr. and Ms. DCAA 2018 in the secondary division during the formal opening of the division meet at CSI Stadia on September 13.

Jericho Gabrillo of St. Albert the Great School (SAGS) and Lesly Jene Calms of Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) are this year’s 1st runner ups, followed by Kevin Chan of Pangasinan Universal Institute (PUI) and Peachy Dicipulo of Mother Goose School as 2nd runner ups; Fritz Jerald Dela Cruz of University of Luzon (UL) and Krizia Trixie De Guzman of Dominican School (DS) as 3rd runner ups; and Arnold Acaso of Bonuan Boquig National High School (BBNHS) and Ella Therese Chua of La Marea Academy as 4th runner ups.

Meanwhile, Rulph Arkhin Jordan Manaois of West Central Elementary School 1 (WCES1) and Aja Bernadette Via of SAGS bagged the Mr. and Ms. DCAA 2018 titles in the elementary division.

They were followed by 1st runner ups John Matthew Zamora (SAGS) and Katelyn Nichole Enriquez (La Marea); 2nd runner ups Jech Emmerich Calugay (St. John Cathedral School) and Jian Zeigh Moyano (LNU-CMC); 3rd runner ups Lanjolanie Moyang (CMC) and Chillian Germaine Ancheta (Wonderland School); and 4th runner ups Jerzam De Vera (Wonderland School) and Phoebe Jussell Dela Torre (East Central Integrated School).

There were 110 candidates from different public and private elementary and high schools that joined the competition held during the basketball and volleyball tournaments kick off in the division meet.

The Dagupan City Athletic Association (DCAA) 2018 is a division meet conducted in collaboration with the city government, the Department of Education (DepEd) Dagupan and the Dagupan City Sports Commission (DCSC). It seeks to engage the city’s youth to be more active in sports.

As part of the selection process of choosing the top athletes to represent Dagupan in the upcoming Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) Meet, DCAA will be hosting at least 21 sports events.  (Verdelle De Vera/CIO)
