SIMULTANEOUS clearing operations were conducted by all power utilities in the country during the national clearing day initiated by the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

Engr. Rodrigo Corpuz, the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Cenpelco) general manager, said NEA directed all power utilities to clear power lines and post of invasive trees and structures.

In the synchronized activity, Cenpelco linemen cleared the posts along Aguilar-Mangatarem-Urbiztondo highway categorized as critical areas often isolated and affected by power tripping because of the bushes and branches that attached to the power lines.

He said, Cenpelco lines are sustained with automatic devices that isolate an area when a line is touched by branches during rainy season to avoid fire or electrocution. (Nora Dominguez)
