Still, only 28 towns and one city drug-cleared

AFTER MORE THAN 60 DAYS

AFTER more than 60 days, still only one city and 27 towns and one drug-free municipality have been officially declared by the regional oversight committee as drug-cleared.

All the towns and cities in the province have been declared drug free since January 2018 by the provincial oversight committee headed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Based on the updated data of the Police Community Relations Branch of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, Alaminos City is the lone city officially declared drug-cleared by the regional oversight committee.

So far only the towns of Agno, Laoac, Dasol, Mapandan, San Nicolas, Natividad, Anda, Mabini, Alcala, Malasiqui, Burgos, Sta. Maria, Sison, Binalonan, Aguilar, Bugallon, San Jacinto, Lingayen, Bautista, Bayambang, Mangatarem, Rosales, Labrador, Calasiao, Villasis, San Manuel, Sta. Barbara have been declared drug-cleared. Sto. Tomas town is the lone drug unaffected municipality.

Still to be considered are Asingan, Bani, San Carlos City, Dagupan City and Urdaneta City while status of Bolinao, Urbiztondo and Basista remain pending.

Infanta, Binmaley, Balungao, Pozorubio, Mangaldan, Sual, Manaoag, San Fabian, Umingan and Tayug are also awaiting for approval by the Regional Subcommittee. (Nora Dominguez)
