PNP nab 4 for drugs, 2 for illegal firearms

LINGAYEN–Four more newly emerged drug personalities (NEDP) were arrested in separate buy-bust operations by elements of Drug Enforcement Units (DEU) and two others for illegal possession of firearms in separate towns of Pangasinan.

Arrested on July 29 at about 10:45 p.m. in Brgy Palma, Basista was Andrew Diaz, alias “Iya”, 28, a newly identified drug personality. He was nabbed in an operation by DEU agents in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 1.

Diaz, a beautician and a native of Brgy. Bocboc West, Aguilar, was arrested after he sold one small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu to an undercover agent.

Arrested in Binmaley town was Jorge Ferrer, alias Jojo, 55, of Barangbay Biec West, Binmaley, who mauled his younger brother Oscar.

The suspect, who was a former drug surrenderer and has a case for rape tried to get away but responding policemen gave chase on him till he was cornered.

When frisked by policemen, he was found in possession of one heat-sealed sachet containing shabu kept inside a folded pieces of paper.

One Ronnie Baylon, alias “Onik”, 39, newly identified pusher, was arrested by policemen in Poblacion East, Calasiao at about 7:55 p.m.on July 30 after he sold one sachet of shabu to an undercover agent.

In Bolinao town, one Romeo Aquino, alias “Donggo”, 35, was also arrested when he sold one sachet of shabu to a police operative in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cabuyao. He was tagged by the police as newly identified drug personality.

Meanwhile, one Willie Munar, 35, a driver, was arrested by the police at about 3:45 a.m. on July 31 when they served a search warrant issued by Judge Emma Ines Parajas of the Regional Trial Court branch 52 in Tayug, at his residence in Barangay Barangobong, Tayug. One hand grenade and 10 Cal. 38. bullets were found in his house.

The search warrant was implemented by joint personnel of the Tayug Police Station led by Chief Inspector Bernabe Ramos and the second Provincial Mobile Force Company based in Tayug.

One Jaime Pascua Sr., alias “Lakay Ino”, of Sitio Awed in Barangay Palina East was also arrested after serving the arrest warrant and found a cal. 38 revolver. (Leonardo Micua)
