Ex-brgy kagawad, 2 others shot in Dagupan

A FORMER barangay kagawad and a university professor in Dagupan City were gunned down while their male companion was wounded in a gun attack Thursday night in Barangay Tapuac.

P/Superintendent Jandale Sulit, city police chief, identified the slain victims as Johnny Baniqued, 47, a businessman engaged in real estate, and Oscar Fernandez, a professor at the University of Luzon while Peter Ramos was wounded and confined at Specialist Group Hospital and Trauma Center. The victims are from Rivera St., Barangay IV this city.

The three finished their their dinner at De Luxe Restaurant in Tapuac and were about to board their Mitsubishi Montero, when they were attacked and shot by an unidentified suspect.

The suspect fled on foot. The attack was caught by the restaurant’s CCTV camera.

Baniqued and Fernandez were rushed by personnel of City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office at the Nazareth General Hospital but were declared dead.

Ramos survived the attack and is being treated in the hospital.

The scene of the Crime operatives recovered 16 pieces of fired cartridge of caliber .45, five deformed fired bullets, one live ammunition and two fragmented fired bullets for caliber .45.
