Capitol buys dredging machine, more vehicles

LINGAYEN –  To further improve the rate of delivery of public service in the province, the provincial government, has acquired new vehicles and a dredging machine.

Newly acquired are six provincial buses, two service vehicles and one ambulance.

The provincial government has six provincial buses purchased during the first term of the former Governor, now Representative of the 5th District, Cong. Amado T. Espino, Jr.

In the meantime, one of the buses has been customized as a ‘Job Fair on Wheels bus’ for the job placement assistance program at he grassroots, while another is being converted into an ‘educational-training bus.’

At the flag-raising ceremony on August 6, Espino said the new equipment should serve Pangasinenses’ needs better.

The governor said the dredging machine will be utilized to dredge up silted rivers to minimize flooding in the province.

Provincial Engineer Antonieta C. Delos Santos said each new 47-seater provincial bus is customized with reclining chairs to give comfort to its passengers.

The two new service vehicles, accordingly, will be used by General Services Office and Provincial Population Office.

Engr. Delos Santos disclosed that except the two service vehicles, the total cost of the newly-acquired provincial vehicles and equipment amount to approximately P104 million.

The provincial government will acquire five closed vans, two dump trucks, water truck, garbage compactor the end of the year.  (PIO/SMDG)
