LINGAYEN –The provincial board commended the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Pangasinan Office for “extending invaluable technical assistance to the province of Pangasinan, its cities and municipalities during the conduct of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) assessment last year.”

Provincial Resolution No.1670-2018, authored by all board members, cited the support of the DILG provincial office that helped the 33 local government units (LGUs) of the province bagged the coveted 2017 SGLG.

Pangasinan had the highest number of SGLG passers from among 81 provinces, 45 cities and 1,489 municipalities in the country.

“For 2017, the DILG raised the overall assessment criteria from ‘3+1’ into ‘4+1’ with peace and order now a core area along with financial administration, disaster preparedness, and social protection,” the resolution reads.

The provincial board also adopted a separate resolution congratulating the DILG-Pangasinan for bagging three regional awards in the Regional Management Committee Conference in Baguio City last May.

The DILG Provincial Office headed by Provincial Director Agnes de Leon was presented the CY 2017 Special Award-Most Outstanding Province; CY 2017 Compliance Award-Best Performing Province; and a Plaque of Recognition for its successful conduct of the Barangay-Based Symposium on Anti-Illegal Drugs and Orientation on MASA MASID Volunteers CY 2017.  (PIO/RRB)
