Job Fair On Wheels launched in Umingan

LINGAYEN – The Pangasinan Job Fair On Wheels of the provincial government rolled out on July 18 in Umingan town despite heavy rainfall that immediately benefitted hundreds of jobseekers.

The mobile job fair project, organized by the Pangasinan Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) in partnership with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and local government unit (LGU) of Umingan, offered job opportunities by five international agencies and six local agencies.

PESO manager Alex F. Ferrer said that this mobile job fair project intends to intensify the mini jobs fair regularly conducted by the provincial government and bring job opportunities closer to the people.

Elated by launching of the mobile job fair in Umingan, Mayor Carleone M. Cruz thanked the provincial government for choosing his town as the pilot recipient and pledged the town’s full support to other programs of the Espino administration.

Meanwhile, DOLE Region 1 Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra hailed the provincial government’s program to promote the interests of the labor force and credited

Gov. Amado Espino III for pioneering in the mobile job fair project which, according to him, is the first of its kind in the country.

“In my 36 years of service, ngayon lang ako nakakita ng Job Fair On Wheels. Congratulations, Governor Espino for pioneering dahil kayo po ang nauna sa buong Pilipinas na magkaroon ng Job Fair On Wheels,” he said.

Those that offered overseas jobs were Androme Recruitment & Mgt. Services, Career Planners Specialists, EDI Staffbuilders, Placewell Services Corp. and RRJM International Manpower Services while 3Cs Industrial Staffing Solutions, Magnapeak Services Corp., SM Urdaneta, EEI Corporation, RDF Feed, Livestock & Foods, Inc., and Rayvill Electrical Const’n. Corp offered local jobs.

A ‘One-Stop-Shop’ also set up by PESO to assist those needing assistance from Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), PhilHealth, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Social Security System (SSS) Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

The event was also graced by 6th District Board Member Noel C. Bince, Pangasinan SK Federation president Jerome Espino and PESO Manager Ferrer.  (PIO/ SMDG)
