Four security guards, sales staff, arrested for qualified theft 

SAN CARLOS—A CCTV footage caught on video the robbery by four security guards and a sales man of UNITOP General Merchandise Inc. in Barangay Bugallon, San Carlos City robbing the store of P30,800 worth of Marlboro cigarettes on July 2.

The arrested suspects were identified as Christian Jeomar Ombac, 29, selling area officer of UNITOP Supermarket; Maria Mayra Bertomin, 28; Ernesto Leocadio, 29; Christopher Arcangel. 29; and Dan Harvard Fernandez, 31, all Security guards.

The incident was discovered by Joel Vallo. officer-in- charge of the Command Force Security Agency that provides security in store and Roman Bulasa, Supermarket manager, when they reviewed the establishment’s CCTV upon receipt of a report that robbery took place at the supermarket.

The five were promptly arrested turned over by Vallo and Bulasa to the responding policemen.

The five admitted that the stolen items were already sold to unidentified person for P14,500.

The suspects have been charged of qualified theft before the prosecution office in San Carlos City. (Leonardo Micua)
