APO chess tourney set July 28
THE Alpha Phi Omega(APO), an international service fraternity and sorority, is set to host a chess tournament at the gymnasium of the University of Pangasinan (U-Pang-Phinma) here on July 28.
The chess tournament is open to 18 years old and under chess players and enthusiasts.
There will be two categories, 18-and-Under and 12-and-Under.
Champion in the 18-Under will receive P10,000 while the first runner-up will get P7,000, and the second runner-up, P3,000.
In the 12-Under, the champion will be receiving P7,000, first runner-up, P5,000 and second runner-up, P3,000.
All winners will receive plaques.
To register, participants must submit a school identification card, birth certificate, and P200 registration fee.
The tournament will be sponsored by the APO Alpha Gamma Alumni Association, APO Alumni Council of North America, Greater Washington Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association, APO Pangasinan Alumni Association, and in cooperation with the Pangasinan Chess League. (Cesar Ramirez)
