Another Fili-Indian, adopted son of Dagupan

THE Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution adopting a Filipino-Indian philanthropist, civic leader and businessman as an outstanding son of the city of Dagupan.

Draft Resolution No. R-56-40 authored by Councilor Jose Netu Tamayo bestowed the honor on Rocky Rakesh Vasandani, vice president of the Rotary Club of Downtown Dagupan and 2017 More Than Conquerors Breakfast Club president.

As an adopted son of Dagupan, Vasandani will be accorded all the rights and privileges, honors, distinctions, and affection that befits a true Dagupeño, the resolution said.

Vasandani has resided Dagupan city for the last 40 years, “immersed himself in business in the community, fully embraced innate Filipino values, and established a Filipino family by marrying a Filipina, the former Marilou Cariño, with whom he has two children.”

The resolution cited the philanthropic work of Vasandani in police-community relations, social work, assistance to education, to the needs of the handicapped. (Leonardo Micua)
