Sim added that as a follow-up activity to the summer clinic, the graduates can participate in an after-school sports program that will be launched soon.

Meanwhile, Mayor Belen T. Fernandez reminisced how the city’s sports programs helped shape the development of the youth of the city.

“This is not just (preparation) for competitions like R1AA. Aside from helping improve athletes’ reflexes, programs like these also help inculcate the value of teamwork and discipline into the minds of the youth,” said Fernandez.

The graduates from the Dance Sports Elementary and Secondary, Arnis, Karatedo, Gymnastics and Wushu programs gave presentation numbers during the event.

The closing ceremony also served as recognition rite for Dagupeno medal haulers during the recently concluded 2018 Philippine National Games (PNG) in Cebu on May 19 to 25.
