JUNE 4 OPENING DAY

MANGALDAN—There will be no collection of fees in public schools as a requirement for enrolment for the school opening on June 4, according to a schools division superintendent in Pangasinan.

Dr. Donato Balderas of Pangasinan 2 Division said, however, there are authorized fees that can be paid later as the school year progresses.

He said the “no-collection” policy is being imposed in the 600 public schools in the division under him so there is no reason for the child not to go to school.

“Even school uniforms are not compulsory,” Balderas said but he advised children to have simple school uniforms instead of wearing the same civilian clothes the whole week.

He added that if parents can afford a school uniform, it provides added security since the child in uniform can easily be identified. (Eva Visperas)
