SURRENDER and undergo rehabilitation if necessary, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque has exhorted barangay officials whose names are in the so-called “narco list” released by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Roque, who was in Dagupan City on April 30 for the Kalutan ed Dalan (street grilling) for the Bangus Festival, told local newsmen that barangay officials linked to illegal drugs “must no longer aspire to serve because you know the truth”.

“Sumurender na kayo at kung kinakailangan, magpa-rehabilitate na kayo para magkaroon kayo ng pangalawang pagkakataon,” he said.
He said the barangay officials in the narco list must not be elected by the people and they should be charged as well.
“They must be in jail where they rightfully belong,” he added.
He said it is important that the PDEA-validated narco list is released to forewarn the electorate about candidates linked to illegal drugs.
“That is not mere rumor, that’s verified list of PDEA and there is a basis for the names listed there,” he added.
He said no less than President Rodrigo Duterte wanted the narco list revealed so that the people would know more about the candidates running for either barangay captain or kagawad posts. (Eva Visperas)
